NorQuant søker front-end utvikler

NorQuant Technology is looking for a full-time or part-time junior front-end developer to strengthen its team. The position is an opportunity to gain experience in the Typescript/React/Redux stack and finance. Our offices are located centrally in Oslo. 

NorQuant is a small but ambitious and growing company in the investment management industry that has two subsidiaries: NorQuant Kapitalforvaltning and NorQuant Technology. The former manages UCITS funds for investors with a quantitative, rules-based approach, while the latter provides technology and financial services to financial institutions and family offices. Among others, NorQuant Technology:

  • is developing a scientific web-based fund analysis product with global potential for professional clients. The tool will allow investors to choose the right combination of funds for their portfolio with the help of quantitative market models originated in academia and from market models widely used among professional financial practitioners.

  • through its cooperation with Nord University and the Norwegian Computing Center, NorQuant Technology is researching on new applications of machine learning and of climate and ESG data to predict stock prices. This has resulted in NorQuant being granted NOK14 million in support from the Research Council of Norway for a research project on ESG and machine learning.

To speed up the development of our web-based product, we are looking for a developer with interests in web, UIs and data visualization and preferably also with interest in the investment management industry, who is eager to gain hands-on experience in agile web development while learning the fundamentals of fund investment and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • frontend development using primarily MaterialUI and Typescript, React and Redux

  • UI design and data visualization

  • testing and bug-fixing

Qualifications needed:

  • either a formal education in computer science or other relevant fields. In lack of academic certificates, a personal portfolio of web development projects

  • 1-2 years of experience in professional web development, but strong testable skills can compensate for lack of it

  • experience contributing to a collaborative codebase and knowledge of clean coding practices

  • good communication skills in Norwegian or English and eagerness to learn in a high-pace environment
